Home Movie Day – San Francisco – October 20, 2018

By Ron Merk, Editor in Chief

The Metro Theatre Center Foundation is proud to support the San Francisco Bay Area annual event, HOME MOVIE DAY. This year the San Francisco screenings will take place at Artists’ Television Access, 992 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94110. The event starts at 1PM. Screenings begin at 1:30PM.

Home Movies are our collective personal histories, and without these, there would be no greater history that is always surrounding us. We are history, we make history, and home movies document this better than any form of media. We need to share, preserve and document our lives, and keep these films and share lives available for future generations. If you don’t know what to do with your home movies made by your parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents, this event is a unique opportunity to talk to a real live film archivist and get advice about your family’s film or video legacy, and how to save it.

Please bring your home movies to share with the world, and to honor Bay Area Film Archivist, Stephen Parr. You can read more about the event at: http://www.atasite.org/?p=12492
